.....bemoan lack of football Events at MKO Abiola Sports Complex
The Award-winning All Stars Football Club Abeokuta has commended the Ogun State Governor,Prince Dapo Abiodun's leadership in hosting the 22nd National Sports Festival.
In a statement obtained from the President of the club,Alh. Lawal Kashimawo Adeoye Waheed, he extended his heartfelt commendations to Governor Abiodun and the entire Gateway Games 2024 team for a successful hosting saying that the opening ceremony has no doubt indicates a successful hosting.
The festival's opening ceremony took place on Sunday at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena,in Abeokuta,the State's capital
Alh. Lawal described the opening ceremony as a grand spectacle that showcased the State's capacity to host major sporting Events
In his statement, "This festival provides a platform for young Athletes to showcase their talents, potentially leading to new opportunities and national recognition"
"We at All Stars Football Club Abeokuta express our profound appreciation to our indefatigable Governor for his visionary leadership,this festival has shown to everyone that our Governor is committed to promoting sports development in Ogun State and we wish all the participants from various states successes as the Games begin"
He therefore noted that the State's hosting capacity will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the local economy, creating new opportunities for businesses and individuals alike.
However,Alh Lawal furthered that, converging all the football Events at Remo Stars Stadium,Ikenne and Babcock University, Ilisan had rendered the newly fixed MKO Abiola Sports Arena's pitch impractical and hereby reducing the opportunities for the market men and women already engaged within the Complex from making more sales
In the same vain, Abeokuta All Stars' President showered encomium on the Director General, National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade for his purposeful leadership and creative ingenuity in bringing in a new innovation by providing a platform for younger talented Athletes by making them the 38th State to compete alongside other states of the federation
"This was what brought about the participation of the National Under-17 Boys and Girls, the Golden Eaglets and the Flamingos in the football Event,and it will in no small measure culminate in positive overall success for the cadet teams and their counterparts from other States"
"The 'Osi Asoju-Oba' of Egbaland has always demonstrated his untiring efforts at bringing sporting development to Ogun State and the hosting of the 22nd National Sports Festival brings his sporting managerial acumen to a purposeful crescendo",
