Methodist Church Nigeria,Egba Diocese has laudedlauded the Ogun State Waste Management Authority, OGWAMA for improved and effective waste management which has kept the state clean.
Bishop of the Diocese and Archbishop of RIYE,Most Reverend Dr Adegbemi Adewale gave the commendations while delivering his State of the Nation and that of Ogun State Address at the end of the 43rd Annual Synod-the Administrative and Judicial Meeting of the Church with the theme "He will Arise Again at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Asero Model Assembly in Abeokuta.
Most Reverend Adewale said the efforts of the Authority especially its operational units that keeps the state clean is worthy of commendation urging the staff and that management of the Authority and that of the environment family not to rest on their laurels .
To reciprocate the commendable efforts of OGWAMA which has led to clean environment,Most Reverend Adewale urged residents of the state to containerize their wastes and stop indiscriminate dumping of waste on roadsides, drainage channels and public places for a more cleaner, healthier and safer environment
For traders in various markets across the state, Most Reverend Adewale urged them to clean their environment regularly and dispose them properly according to standard regulations from the state waste management authority.
He also used the opportunity to thank the state government for hosting the 22nd edition of the National Sports Festival adding that as the Chairman of the Ogun State Paralympic Tennis Association,he urged residents of the state to show the best of their hospitality to thousands of athletes,officials,visitors and tourists that will converge in the state for the Nigeria version of the Olympics Games.
Most Reverend Adewale did not forget to remind the state government on the need to adequately maintain the modern facilities provided for the festival for the overall future development of sports in the Gateway State.
