Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has praised the ongoing National Sports Festival for its significant impact on the state’s economy, highlighting increased commercial activities across sectors such as tourism, retail, and local manufacturing. With over 12,000 athletes and officials participating, he noted that local markets — particularly the indigenous Adire industry — have experienced unprecedented demand.
The Governor made this known while receiving the Access Bank leadership team in Abeokuta, calling for deeper collaboration with financial institutions to support Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs), which he described as the backbone of industrial growth and job creation. He emphasized his administration’s efforts in reviving the Adire value chain and expressed optimism about future partnerships to boost local industries.
Access Bank’s Managing Director, Roosevelt Ogbonna, commended the state’s improved business environment and infrastructure under Governor Abiodun’s leadership, affirming the bank’s commitment to continued collaboration in support of Ogun State’s development vision.
