The former Nigerian international announced the death of his son who passed on to glory in the early hours of Good Friday, 29 March 2024 after a brief illness.
The SWAN Chairman in Ogun State, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji in an emotional condolence message personally signed said the association deeply shared the pain with Odegbami over the loss of Oluwagbeminiyi to the cold hands of death.
According to Ogunsiji, losing one's son who has grown up to be a highly gifted and multi-talented young man would be an incredibly painful experience to bear for a father.
He said, “The Ogun SWAN shares in the pains of our dear Olusegun Odegbami and his family are passing through now.
“Please know that the entire Ogun sports fanatics are here for you during this difficult time. However, surround yourself with loved ones who can provide comfort and understanding. They can be a source of strength and support as you navigate through this challenging journey.
"Remember, you're not alone in this, and there are people who care about you and want to help you through this difficult time.
"Healing takes time, and it's a personal journey, we pray Almighty God in His infinite mercies receive the soul of the deceased and grant him eternal rest," Ogunsiji said
