Footballer's wife Dora Kayode accused of fraud, adultery in scandal involving Pastor Tobi Adegboyega

Ezinne Dora Kayode, the wife of Nigerian footballer Kayode Olanrewaju, has been embroiled in a scandal involving fraud, adultery, and abduction, shocking the nation.

Despite being seven years older than her husband, Ezinne Kayode deceived him about her age at the time of marriage.

It was reported that one Yetunde Burstline, an associate of controversial figures Daddy Freeze and Taste Bud, introduced Mrs. Kayode to Pastor Tobi Adegboyega.

It was revealed that Pastor Adegboyega engaged in sexual affairs with Mrs. Kayode, who frequently attended orgies, leaving home for extended periods.

According to Olanrewaju, Mrs. Kayode allegedly stole two Mercedes SUVs from him to finance the lavish lifestyle of Pastor Adegboyega and his associates. Furthermore, she conspired with realtor Ugochukwu Igboanugo and accomplices Jennifer Max Nduaguibe and Lynda Dike Anulika to transfer property ownership from Mr. Kayode to herself.

In a shocking turn of events, Mrs. Kayode abducted her three children on Sunday 24th March 2024, their whereabouts unknown. Despite numerous complaints and petitions to law enforcement, including the Nigerian Police FCID Alagbon under AIG Idowu Omohunwa, efforts to recover the stolen vehicles, properties, and abducted children have been futile.

Olanrewaju also said Mrs. Kayode, has been falsely parading herself as a lawyer and suspected of drug abuse, and allegedly attempting to manipulate OC SARS, Abuja, and DSS personnel to coerce him into relinquishing his property or face harm.

Mr. Kayode, distressed by the situation, has attempted suicide twice and terminated his football contract, fearing for his life amid death threats from unknown individuals, including those within law enforcement circles.

Ogun Exco Approves Abule Egba-Abeokuta Expressway, Ogijo Road, Five Other Major Projects For Execution

The Ogun State executive Council, presided over by Governor Dapo Abiodun, has approved seven major priority projects for execution.

The projects, according to the Special Adviser to the governor on Media, Hon, Kayode Akinmade, are the re-construction of six roads, including the Abule Egba-Ota/Sango-Abeokuta Expressway and purchase for some equipment at the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport.

The Council approved the reconstruction of the 5.5km Ode Remo Junction to Sapade (phase 3), the rehabilitation of Ayepe Junction to Mayflower in Ikenne Local Government and the reconstruction of Adesan Street, off Mowe-Ofada road in Obafemi Owode Local Government.

Other approvals include, the structural adjustment for the 19.2km Atan-Lusada-Agbara road in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government and the construction of Hospital Road, Ogijo, in Sagamu Local Government.

These, according to Hon. Akinmade will ensure the provision of additional infrastructure in the course of constructing the road.

The purchase of some machinery and equipment at Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport at Ilishan Remo, he said, will allow 24 hours flight operations and facilitate quick take off of the international acclaimed Airport.

Meanwhile, approval has been given for palliative work to be carried out at Iyana Ilogbo bus stop along the Abule Egba-Ota/Sango-Abeokuta Expressway ( ongoing now) following recent rainfall that led to flooding in the area.

Certificate Forgery: Court Remands Bayelsa Senator In Prison

The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo, Abuja, on Thursday, remanded serving Senator Benson Konbowei in the Kuje Correctional Centre.

The Bayelsa Central senator is being tried by the police on three counts bordering on forgery of the National Youth Service Corps exemption certificate.

He was arraigned on Tuesday and pleaded not guilty.

The court on Thursday granted the senator N50m bail but ruled that he should be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the perfection of the bail conditions.

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a democrat and visionary leader who is passionately committed to the emergence of Nigeria as an economic power house.

Prince Abiodun, in a congratulatory message to the President on his 72nd birthday on 29 March, said Tinubu is the right man to lead the country at this period of economic crisis among other issues bedeviling  the nation.

The governor noted that since his assumption of office on 29 May, President Tinubu has demonstrated astuteness, resilience, and a deep understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people.

Stormers Sports Club, Beyond Limit Chase State FA Cup Glory, Remo Stars Ladies, Castmog FC In Female Contest

The MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta will be agog on Sunday, 31st March 2024 when the grand finale of the state FA Cup takes centre stage.

The first port of call on the day will be the Women's final between Remo Stars Ladies and Castmog Football Club starting from noon.

It will then be an affair of Nigeria National League (NNL) campaigners in the Men's final when Beyond Limit Football Academy lock horns with Stormers Sports Club starting from 3pm.

On their way to the final, last season's finalists Beyond Limit Football Academy accounted for Premier League team Remo Stars via penalty shootout after the game finished a goal apiece in regulation time.

Beyond Limit who also got the better of Remo Stars in their last meeting in the Cup competition have now defeated the Sky Blue Stars consecutively in the State FA Cup.

For first time finalists Stormers Sports Club, they thrashed Ijebu United 4-0 in their semi final game in a scintillating fashion to qualify for the National Federation Cup for the first time in the Club's history.

Now tutored by Coach Saburi Omoyayi, a former player of Shooting Stars and the longest serving captain of Gateway United, Stormers Sports Club are gunning for their first piece of silverware against Beyond Limit FA that recently became the first African team to win the Viareggio Cup in Italy.

The two teams are already assured of featuring in the National Federation Cup which will get underway later in the year.

Abiodun Promises More Infrastructural Development, Commissions Siun-Owode Road

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun on Thursday said his government will continue with its infrastructural drive, especially in the area of road construction as a catalyst for economic growth and development.

Abiodun spoke at the commissioning of the six kilometres (first phase) of the Siun-Owode-Ofada road in the Obafemi Owode Local Government of the state.

Speaking at the event, which was attended by the Kwara State Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahaman AbdulRasak, Governor Abiodun emphasized the importance of road construction in the overall development if the state. 

The governor described the newly rehabilitated road as an alternative to the ever busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, adding that it would also impact positively on the socio-economic development of communities along the road.

He said the construction of the road was a testimony to the dedication to strategic and methodical development of infrastructure across the state to enhance the socio-economic landscape as enshrined in the "Building our Future Together" agenda of his administration.

"The road represents a vital link between communities to boost local economies and connect all those coming from Abeokuta to Siun, Owode up to Mowe. This local government is where people work in Lagos but reside and commune daily.

"The road is an alternative for people from Abeokuta to Lagos. It will significantly impact the socio-economy development of the state," the governor noted.

He added that the road is the first to be commissioned this year, just as the Mowe-Ofada road has been completed, adding that his administration would soon commissioned more roads including the Ilaro -Owode road and the Gateway International Cargo Airport at Ilisan.

 

Governor Abiodun listed Obantoko, Gbonogun, Ikorita Meje-Aderinde-Olokotutu, Olomore-Sanni, Somorin- Kemta-Idi-Aba, Panseke-Adigbe as well as the Olusegun Osoba-Toyin- Agbado as some of the roads that have been attended to in Ogun Central Senatorial District, even as he pledged that more roads would be put in good shape soon. 

Abiodun who spoke on why some road projects were delayed, blaming the development on the high price of construction materials.

He said: "We have had a slow down on construction due to the situation of things in the country in the last few months which has not allowed for objective pricing of construction materials.

"But for us, construction represents a lot. Besides the fact that road construction allows for movement of goods, services, and people, the construction industry is the largest employer of labour. So, we will continue to prioritize construction.

"We have harvested priority roads in each local government area. We will begin our reconstruction all over again as a result of the price stability. Our contractors will go back to sites. All the roads harvested during our last town hall meetings, you will begin to see construction on the roads."

He called on the people to take ownership of the road and other infrastructure provided by the government by protecting them as they were commonwealth and taxes were used in providing them.

The Kwara State Governor, who is also the Chairman, Nigerian Governors' Forum (NGF), Alhaji Abdulrahaman Abdulrasak, praised Governor Abiodun for the infrastructural revolution going on in the state.

According to him, the Abiodun-led administration has judiciously invested the commonwealth of the people.

He said he has visited other states in the country but was impressed with the level of development in Ogun State.

He called on his colleagues from other parts of the country to take a cue from Ogun State by providing their people with the needed infrastructure to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

The Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Shuaib Afolabi Salis, recalled that the road was pencilled down for reconstruction in 2022 and expressed appreciation to the governor, for not abandoning the road like his predecessors.

He called on the people to make good use of the road as it belongs to them.

The state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Yemi Sanusi, described the road as historic to the Egba people because of its interconnectivity to various communities and its importance to the commercial activities in the communities along the road.

The Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, Hon. Adesina Ogunsola appreciated the state government for reconstructing the road and for providing a 7.5 KVA transformer to Owode to restore power to the town.

In his welcome address, Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya said the road, which was in bad shape for many years, was reconstructed with a standard drainage system to conform with the federal government's specification for highways.

The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including the Deputy Dovernor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, former deputy governors, members of the National and State Assemblies, traditional rulers, party stalwarts, among others.

Ogun To Return State Sports Festival - Isiaka

The Ogun state government qhas said it would revive the moribond state sports festival which serves as a prelude to the National Sports Festival.

The sports Commissioner for Development, Mr. Wasiu Isiaka disclosed this on Tuesday at the 2nd biennial inter house sports competition of Vivanis Group of Schools held at the Navy Secondary School, Abeokuta.

Isiaka said the state sports festival which was last held during the Otunba Gbenga Daniel administration would avail the state government to discover talent and nurture them to stardom

explained that, this would bring competitiveness among the state athletes that will represent the state for the National Sports Festival.

He said arrangement is in top gear with the state Ministry of Education and State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) to organize talent hunts among primary and secondary school pupils in the state to improve sports at the grassroots level.

"It is our responsibility to nurture them to stardom. We are meeting SUBEB and education ministry to see how we can bring back school sports. The government is determined to improve sports, there's a specific plan. We are bringing talent hunts between primary and secondary schools. 

"The government is ready to do everything possible to engage them. Sports have a unique way of bringing people together. We are planning a lot of things because we have the ability to train these talwnts. We are trying to make sure there is synergy between the private schools and the state government.

"The government has concluded plans to bring back State sports festival, we are going to return it and plan is on the way."

Isiaka however said the sports ministry would begin open trials for athletes that will represent the state at the National Sports Festival.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun state chapter, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji charged the state government to begin early preparation for the forthcoming national festival.

Ogunsiji maintained that early camping of the athletes would ensure the success of the state at the biennial sporting event.

In his welcome remark, the Director of College, Vivanis Group of Schools, Mr. Desmond Nwachukwu commended the state government for creating an enabling environment for sports to thrive.

Nwachukwu called on the state government to beam its searchlight for talents among private secondary schools in the state, saying this would give every parents a sense of belonging.

DOGO GIDE IS DEAD

 

The infamous bandit leader Dogo Gide, who was causing a lot of terror in the North, is dead. His reign of terror has finally come to an end.

Dogo Gide passed away as a result of gunshot injuries sustained during a clash with Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) forces.

The encounter took place in the challenging landscape of Madada forest within the Maru local government area on March 12, 2024.

Despite suffering serious injuries, Dogo Gide was said to have been covertly taken to a hospital in Mabera, Sokoto, Sokoto State, where he eventually passed away.

Dogo Gide, a notorious fugitive sought for his series of heinous crimes in the area, was laid to rest in Dandalla Village on March 24.

His appearance at the hospital was supposedly made easier by a security official who is currently detained, prompting concerns about potential cooperation within the security forces.

The successful elimination of Dogo Gide represents a notable achievement for the Nigerian security forces, showcasing the collaborative endeavors of 1 Division and 8 Division of the Nigerian Army.

Dogo Gide has a history of involvement with ANSARU and other significant terrorist organizations. He has been linked to serious crimes including the shooting down of a military helicopter in the Dansadau-Birmin Gwari region and the kidnapping of students from Federal Government College Yauri.

Economic Hardship: Gov. Abiodun Assures Muslim Faithful Of Relief, To Sell Rice At 50% Discount

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has said that his administration would immediately begin the sale of rice to members of the public across the state at half price of the commodity to cushion the  prevalent economic hardship among the populace.  

The governor also noted that the sale of the commodity would begin with public servants across the board, adding that it is the aspiration of his administration to return the purchasing power of public servants

He spoke during the Special Iftar (Breaking of Fast) organised for the League of Imams and Alfas in the state at the Presidential Lodge, Abeokuta, on Tuesday evening.

Abiodun said: "We have decided to commence the sale of rice. We will be selling it at the rate of 50% of the actual price.

"We are going to commence with our civil servants. All our public servants across the board will buy rice at half the price.

"What is the reason behind selling to them? What we are trying to do is put them in the position they were before the inflation. The purchasing power that they seem to have lost because of inflation, we are putting them back in that position."

The governor noted that a committee was set up to oversee the sale of the commodity to residents of the state, adding that selling at 50% discount would avail his administration to continue to buy more to be sold to the people.

He continued: "We have set up a committee. That committee has come up with the modalities on how we will sell the grain so there won't be issues.

"We want to sustain this. If we say we want to be giving it to people as a gift, very soon, we won't be able to sustain it. But, if we sell at the price it was sold before it becomes expensive, it will allow us to use the money to buy more and continue to sell.

"For those we know can't afford to buy, those we call the poor, the elderly and the vulnerable, we will be giving them the rice free of charge."

Abiodun, therefore, urged Muslim faithful to continue to live a holy life even after the fasting period, adding that they should endeavour to continue to pray not just for themselves, but for the state and the country as a whole.

The governor told the gathering that he would fulfil his promise to build a befitting secretariat for the League of Imams and Alfas, adding that the secretariat, when completed, would become the envy of other states.

Governor Abiodun noted that Nigerians will start to enjoy the dividends of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration with the gradual fall of the dollar, calling for more prayers for the president to succeed in his assignment.

While describing God Almighty as a deliberate God, the governor noted that it was a divine plan by the Almighty for both the Lent and Ramadan to hold at the same time so as to afford both Christians and Muslims the opportunity to pray to God for his mercies on the country.

He also called on the Muslim Ummar to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, show act of kindness during this period.

Earlier, the Secretary of the League of Imams and Alfas, Imam Tajudeen Adewunmi commended Governor Abiodun for making it a point of duty to empower eight Muslim youths monthly, adding that he is a good person who doesn't use his office to inflict pain on the people.

Special prayers were offered for the 72nd birthday celebration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu billed for 29th March, as the Governor was also conferred with the title of Ambassador of Peace in Islam at the event.

OGUN GOVERNMENT ASSSURES OF PROPER WATER CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT

Ogun state  government says it has put proper governance structures is place to protect, preserve, conserve and manage water in the state so that it can be exploited in a very responsible manner.

Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ola Oresanya stated this during a water stakeholders strategic meeting as part of the fallout of the  state's activities for World  Water Day in Abeokuta

According to him, governance structure which involved the Ministry of Environment in charge of water policies and regulations,the Ministry of Special Duties overseeing  production and distribution through the State Water Corporation and the Ministry of Rural Development ensuring its availability to the rural populace are all geared toward proper water conservation and management in the state.

Oresanya said since the state is blessed with fresh and underground water sources,the governance structure aside from ensuring proper water management also prevent function overlaps, rancour and guarantee peace in the state.

He therefore called for Catchment Area Preservation where the fresh and underground water can be recharged in a responsible manner saying that most of the Industries that penetrate through drilling of boreholes through extraction must recharge as these recharge zones are wetland which when not properly conserved will dry up.

Oresanya also underscored the importance of water Extraction Charges which is one of the policies for subsidy in water production which will allow every residents of the state to have access to water.

"Access to water means that those who are extracting water for commercial and industrial purposes must be able to subsidize those who don't have access to it so that it can be equitable, inclusive and sustainable" he added.

The Commissioner also announced the decision of the state government to capture and register all boreholes in the state with their geo-reference and the extraction capacity for their proper management through the proposed Water Regulatory Agency saying that what is not measurable is not manageable.

Welcoming the stakeholders that comprises Corporate Organisations, Commercial Outfits Academia,Investors, Drillers in the water sector to the forum earlier,the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mr Olugbenga Sam Oyeleye urged them to cooperate with the state government for effective water exploitation, conservation and management so that the wet zones where they are exploiting are protected from unwholesome development which may lead to water shortages in the nearest future.

Remo Stars, Beyond Limit Clash In FA Cup Semi Final, Stormers Sports Club Lock Horns With Ijebu United

 

 

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title chasing Remo Stars Football Club have set up a semi final clash with Beyond Limit Football Academy in the 2024 Ogun State FA Cup tournament after a 2-1 win against Atlantic Business FC in the quarter final on Tuesday.

The Skye Blue Stars fought hard against their  Business minded opponents at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abeokuta and a brace from energetic forward Isaac James in the 15th and 68th minute propelled the Daniel Ogunmodede tutored  side to the last four of the competition.

The last time the two teams met in this tournament, Beyond Limit FA recorded a 3-2 victory against the former CAF Champions League campaigners.

The semi final clash is scheduled for the Remo Stars stadium, Ikenne on Thursday, March 28, 2024 starting from 8am.

Meanwhile, Nigeria National League sides Stormers Sports Club and Ijebu United will clash in the second semi final, same day, albeit on the second pitch inside the Remo Stars' Sports facility in Ikenne, Ogun State starting from 10am.

Stormers Sports Club who narrowly missed promotion to the NPFL  by whiskers at the Nigeria National League Promotion Playoff in Asaba, Delta State last season accounted for Imperial FC before getting to this stage.

Ijebu United on the other hand had the better of D-Shack FC in their quest for glory in the tournament.

The finalists will qualify to represent the Gateway State at the National Federation Cup which will come up later in the year.

Law enforcement authorities are currently conducting an investigation into $2.4 billion worth of unauthorized foreign exchange transactions - Cardoso.

 

The disclosure was made known during the media update that ensued the 294th meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) in Abuja on Tuesday.

The examination is focusing on numerous transactions that did not adhere to the regulatory standards established by the CBN for foreign exchange allocations.

Cardoso highlighted various irregularities, such as the disbursement of large sums of FX for requests that were never submitted and allocations made without the necessary naira backing. He highlighted the absence of legal validity and adequate documentation in these transactions.

Cardoso emphasized the gravity of these irregularities, labeling numerous transactions under investigation as "clearly unlawful."

“We determine that a number of these transactions did not qualify. In some cases, we have some allocations made in millions of dollars, which were never requested for; we also had somewhere they had no naira and they were also allocated some foreign exchange. 

“It was for that reason that we refused to validate those particular transactions. Apart from the fact that documentation was not satisfactory, in many cases, they were outright illegal. The law enforcement agencies are now looking into those transactions that as far as we are concerned, are not valid to be paid.”

Clerics Thumb Up Gov. Abiodun As Ogun Continues Palliative Distributions

In the spirit of the Easter celebration and the ongoing  Ramadan, the Ogun State government on Sunday continues its palliative distribution across the three senatorial districts of the state to cushion the effect of the current economic challenges on the people.

It was the turn of Christians as the palliative got to many churches, while some mosques also benefited from the gesture, an initiative of Governor Dapo Abiodun, on Friday.

The palliative, which included rice, were shared in churches and mosques in the three senatorial districts on Sunday and Friday.

In Ogun Central Senatorial District, the gift was extended to worshippers at St. Peter's Cathedral, Ake, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Isale Ake and the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Ijaiye in Abeokuta South Local Government Area 

Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke, commended the governor for his kind gesture, noting that the palliative was another means of ameliorating the suffering of the people. 

In separate remarks, the shepherd in charge of the Celestial Church, Ven. Superior Joseph Talon, Mr. Abeeden Hammed and Mrs Julianah Adesanya, who were overwhelmed by the palliative gesture, thanked the governor for the gift. 

While appreciating the governor for the various interventions, they prayed to God to grant him a successful tenure.

In Ogun East Senatorial District, worshippers at Cathedral Church of St. Paul, C&S, Orisun Emi Alafia, and United Baptist Church all in Sagamu, Sagamu Local Government also benefitted from the palliative. 

Speaking after receiving the gift, Mr. Emmanuel Adetunji, Mrs 

Adenike Adekoya and Mr. Oludayo Soyemi described Governor Abiodun as a man who cares about the welfare of his citizenry, promising that they would continue to support his government in its determination to take the state to a greater height.

The Bishop of Remo Diocese, Methodist Church Nigeria, The Rt. Rev. Bamidele Ibikunle, described the initiative as a welcome development.

Speaking on Sunday at the Rev. Mellor Methodist church, Agbowa, Sagamu, Bishop Ibikunle noted that the gesture would go a long way in easing the suffering of the people particularly those who are not sure of where the food would come from during the Easter period.

"It is an exciting thing to know that our governor is thinking well of the people and I am happy especially today that we are commemorating the Palm Sunday.

"We want to thank the governor in a special way for being mindful of his people because times are hard and this palliative will go a long way to ameriorating people's suffering particularly people who are not sure of what to eat at Easter can now have something on their table to eat with their families," Bishop Ibikunle stated.

Also speaking, the Presbyter and Cathedral Administrator, The Very Reverend Jacob Oluwaseyi Ayedola, acknowledged the hardship in the country and appreciated Governor Abiodun for extending the gesture to his church members, calling on government at all levels to do more intervention programmes to bring succour to the people.

An elder in the church, Sir Teju Ogunjimi, described the palliative as a welcome development, especially as the Easter is drawing near.

Other members of the church, Mrs. Olufunmilayo Babatunde and Mr. Olumide Adefisan, as well as Dotun Fikayomi, described the gesture as "unexpected", saying extending the palliative to the church underscored the fact that the state governor is an impartial administrator who is after the welfare and wellbeing of his people irrespective of religion or social standing.

(Ogun East)  RHEMA Cathedral Ota (Ogun West), CAC Oke Segun, Akiniku, Ilaro (Ogun West), C.C.C Molipa Ijebu (Ogun East), C.C.C state HQ, Ijaiye, Abeokuta (Ogun West), Sacred Cherubim & Seraphim Church, Sagamu (Ogun East) and Methodist Cathedral Sagamu.(Ogun East).

Some Islamic faithful across the state also benefitted from the gesture on Friday.

Speaking during the distribution at the Ijebu-Ode Central Mosque, 

The Grand Chief Imam, Sheik  Miftaudeen Ayanbadejo urged the Federal Government to temporarily open the nation's borders to allow for inflow of goods to address the current hardship in the country.

The Grand Chief Imam noted that though giving palliative at this point in time would bring short time relief, opening the borders would make goods available at reasonable cost.

He said: "I thank His Excellency, Governor Abiodun for this palliative because there is hungry in the land and whatever the government can do to bring relief is welcome.

"For me, the best thing to do is for the governors to appeal to the President to open the borders for a short time even if it is for three months to allow things to normalize. Sending palliatives is temporary relief, but opening the borders will make the difference."

Speaking after receiving his share of the palliative, a top ranking official in the mosque, Isiaka Adebanjo, appreciated the Governor Abiodun for the gesture and appealed for continuous distribution to enable it get to a large percentage of the populace.

Mrs. Aminat Quadri and Lawal Sikiru, who spoke in an interview, lauded the efforts of the Prince Abiodun-led administration in meeting the needs of the people at this trying time, saying the palliative would go a long way in making food available in their respective households.

At the Ilaro Central Mosque Muslims Community, the Chief Imam of the Mosque, Alhaji Tajudeen Adewunmi appreciated Governor Abiodun for his efforts in bringing succour to the people, acknowledging that the gesture will go a long way in alleviating the suffering of the people.

"The hardship in the land is too much and it is telling on the people. You can imagine a situation where people can no longer afford three square meals per day. It is only God that can come to our rescue. Thank God that we have a governor who feels the pulse of the people and is ready to meet everybody at the point of their needs," the Chief Imam said.

Other faithful, including Alhaja Amudalat Kikelomo Akinola noted that the governor has continued to positively affect the lives of residents by bearing their burden

"Apart from the distribution of food items to residents today,  Governor Abiodun is also doing fantastically well in the payment of N10,000 cash awards to indigent learners in public primary and secondary schools across the state. 

"He has also commenced the disbursement of N50000 to Ogun State students in public and private higher institutions across the country," Alhaja Akinola said.

Kwara PDP Expresses Grief Over Oba Oloro Demise

 

The Kwara state chapter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed her deepest grief over the passing of Kabieesi, HRH, Oba Abdulrafiu Olaniyi Ajiboye, Oyelaran 1, the Oloro of Oro kingdom .

In this time of mourning, the Kwara PDP extended her heartfelt condolences to the family of the late monarch, Oro traditional council, the people of Irepodun LGA, Kwara State traditional council and the state government.

In a condolence message signed by the PDP State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments), the party mourned the loss of a monarch whom it described as a king who etched indelible marks on the sands of history, who steered Oro Kingdom towards progress and development during his reign.

"We received the news of Kabieesi's demise with profound grief and stand in solidarity with his family, the people of Irepodun LGA, and the Kwara State Traditional Council during this time of immense loss.

"Although Kabieesi has departed when his fatherly wisdom is most needed, we celebrate his remarkable services to his people and to Kwara State as a whole.

DEPLOY MODERN TECHNIQUES TO CONSERVE FOREST RESERVES, HOS CHARGES FORESTERS

Adaptation to current dynamics of forestry practice by Foresters, such as modern ways of curbing insects and pests, invasion of forests, use of data analysis and artificial intelligence to monitor forest ecosystems and generating assistance with migration of tree species, to build a climate resilient Forestry amongst others, will further promote conservation of Forest Reserves.

Ogun State Head of Service (HoS), Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun, who stated this while declaring open a-day lecture, organised as part of activities to mark International Day of Forests 2024, with the theme, “Forests and Innovation: New Resolution For A Better World”, at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Mr. Fagbohun noted that deforestation, degradation, land usage conflict, lack of governance enforcement, climate change and invasion of forests by illegal dwellers were factors affecting effective growth of forest, calling for joint control by all and sundry.

The Head of Service, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters, Mr. Dipo Ogunfowora, noted that the state had constantly tackle challenges by evacuating intruders from its nine Reserves, planting of more trees to avoid deforestation and various partnerships with private entities to promote forest regeneration.

He added that conservation of trees was a collective responsibility of all, warning that illegal activities such as, burning of trees, farm cultivation on Forest Reserves, felling of trees, chemical pollution and depletion of ozone layers, among others, would have adverse effect on the society.

Mr. Fagbohun underscored the need to preserve forests through awareness campaigns on the significance of forests and developing more effective ways to checkmate intruders, among others, calling on residents of the state to report all illegal activities to government.

Speaking, the state Commissioner for Forestry, Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, disclosed that a platform for online payment for logging operation had been set up by the Ministry to block revenue leakages arising from logging operations.

Engr. Oludotun, represented by his Permanent Secretary, Mr. Timothy Olatunji also lauded the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his support in achieving the set target of planting over one million tree seedlings on 848.33 hectares in Forest Reserves across the state last year.

He informed that the Ministry also planted 4,080 trees at Ogun Agro- Cargo Airport at Iperu in Ikenne Local Government Area, to improve the aesthetics of the place, just as a 4000 hectares of wild-life sanctuary was acquired at Itasin in Ogun East Senatorial District, while motorcycles, tractors, patrol vehicles were procured to improve monitoring activities.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Timothy Olatunji, who spoke through the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry, Mr. Kayode Onanuga, enjoined the public to imbibe the culture and practice of afforestation through aggressive tree planting and desist from deforestation.

In their good will messages, Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, his counterpart in the Ministry of Agriculture, Hon. Bolu Owotomo; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Hon. Damilola Otubanjo; Chairman, House of Assembly Committee Chairman on Agriculture and Forestry, Hon. Folu Salami and others, affirmed that forest maintenance and protection were pivotal to the sustainability of human lives and the environment.

Ogun Govt Assures Completion Of Agbado-Oke Aro- Akute Road, Says 16km Already Done

The Ogun State government, on Friday, said it is already working on the rehabilitation of Agbado-Oke Aro-Akute road.

The government was reacting to a video that captured 500 pastors urging Governor Dapo Abiodun to rehabilitate the road in fulfilment of his re-election pledge.

In a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, the state government, affirmed that it had never shirked its responsibilities in the area of road construction, having constructed over 600 kilometres of roads since coming on board in 2019.

It added that it had already completed half of the Alagbole-Sango Ota road and that the remaining axis was captured in this year's budget.

It, however, added that the slight delay experienced in executing the project is due to budgetary issues and the spike in the cost of construction materials, saying that the constraints were being addressed.

The government also urged residents of the area to fulfil their tax obligations to the state and assist the government in delivering on democratic dividends.

Akinsanya said: "With respect to completing the project to relieve the pains of our people and infuse a new lease of life into the area, we are on the same page with the clerics captured in the video demanding action on the road.

"It is the constitutional responsibility of the government to provide good roads for the people of Ogun State, and it is a fact that the Ogun State government under Prince Dapo Abiodun has invested heavily on roads. 

"This particular road, Alagbole to Sango Ota, is about 32 km, and the government has already done 16 km out of it. More importantly, it is also captured in the 2024 budget.

"However, the budgetary provision based on the reality on the ground, particularly in relation to forex, is inadequate. The cost of asphalt, granite, and other materials have spiked, and so the government is looking at a way of bridging the cost gap. As we all know, a project initially billed to cost N1bn may cost more than double nowadays. Therefore, it requires a lot of reengineering.

"Rather than engage in subtle blackmail and character assassination, what we need are concerted efforts to put the economy back on track. 

"The citizenry must also support the government to get out of the economic quagmire by paying their taxes. 

"Statistics show that most residents of the area are not captured in the tax net. They should support the government by paying their taxes when due to help them better."

Ogun Determined to Resolve NURTW, OGSPAM Crisis, Commits to Ensuring Stable Union Activities in the State

The Ogun State Government said it is determined to resolve the crisis that broke out between the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and the Ogun State Park Management Board (OGSPAM) recently.

Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Dairo Olugbenga, who spoke on the crisis, said efforts were made by officials of the state and other stakeholders towards restorating peaceful transport activities across the state.

"Yes, there was a crisis, and we have been able to stabilize it. On behalf of the Executive Governor of our state, I want to use this medium to appreciate the security agencies for the roles played, the various union leaders as well as other sector stakeholders and well meaning citizens of the State that come together to ensure that the kind of peace established and since enjoyed in Ogun State is not disrupted," he said.

While apologizing to the people of the state for any inconveniences the crisis might have caused them, Dairo noted that the government, based on its observations, will set in motion the needed steps to stabilise the system.

"We have observed one or two issues in the conduct of union activities. We are going to strategically review the entirety of the informal transport sector and stabilize the system so as to ensure that the growth, prosperity and security agenda of the present administration is not altered," the commissioner added.

 

He urged the unions to pursue  peace in the discharge of their duties, reminding them that there are also other critical stakeholders in the transport sector whose interests the government must also safeguard.

Another Nigerian Actor Is Dead

 

Nigerian actor, Lukman Abdulsalam, popularly known as Hamburger is dead.

The Nollywood actor reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while on set filming a skit. According to witnesses, He passed away despite immediate medical attention and all efforts to revive him proved abortive. 

He was survived by His wife, two children and a host of other relations. 

Hamburger's death comes barely 24 hours after popular Nollywood movie producer, Ikechukwu Nnadi, popularly known as Andy Best was pronounced dead.

OGUN GOVERNMENT SHUT FOOD AGRO AND ALLIED INDUSTRIES, SANGO-OTA FOR ENVIRONMENT INFRACTIONS

In its continued efforts at shielding its residents from harmful effects of environmental infractions which will impact on their welfare and well-being,the Ogun State government has shut down Food Agro and Allied Industries Limited,Kilometre 40 Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway,Ijako,Sango-Ota for serious environmental infractions and disobeying government order.

In shutting down the malted sorghum producing company,the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Environment who doubles as Chairman of the state Taskforce on Environmental Compliance and Enforcement, Alhaji Farook Akintunde said the company was found guilty of bye-passing its Effluent Treatment Plants thereby releasing its untreated waste-water to its immediate environment especially to the newly  rehabilitated Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway which tantamount to wilfully destroying public infrastructures as well as exposing residents of the area to untold hardship.

Akintunde also said the company was equally culpable of degrading the environment through oil spillage which are not only harmful but will eventually have negative effect on the ground water of its immediate communities.

"To worsen issues,the company refused all previous entreaties to make corrections on the noted infractions and flagrantly disobey a stop-work order from the state government"

"The government therefore had no other alternative than to close down the company in order to restore environmental sanity in the company and stop it from further degrading its immediate communities"Akintunde added.

He said the company will remain shut until all the identified infractions which have been brought to their attention are corrected and certified by the state government adding that as regulators the government will not shy away from enforcing needed environmental compliance.

While praising many Industries that operate in environmentally friendly atmosphere,he counselled those who are in the habit of committing environmental infractions to turn a new leaf as the state government is not interested in shutting down any of them but in ensuring proper environmental governance within the state.

Ogun's N5bn Intervention Palliative Impacting Lives Of Residents-Akinmade

 

The N5 billion Ogun State Intervention Palliative meant to cushion the impact of the current economic challenges in the country is having direct impacts on the people of the Gateway State.

This was stated on Monday by the Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Media and Information, Hon. Kayode Akinmade, while speaking on an OGTV Current Affairs Program, The RoundTable.

He said that through targeted interventions, the government aims to address the current economic challenges by implementing a series of phased initiatives aimed at alleviating these burdens.

Governor Abiodun had recently announced N5 billion intervention funds to cushion the effect of the rising cost of living and inflation in the state. 

The grant, according to him, is planned to be shared as palliatives to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal.

Governor Abiodun during a press conference held in Abeokuta said his administration acknowledges the current hardship in the country, occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal and the concerns raised from different quarters regarding the rising food prices and shortages, coupled with the depreciation of the Naira. 

While expressing a sense of emotions, Governor Abiodun noted that proactive measures to alleviate the impact of the challenges to guarantee the welfare, well-being and wellness of the residents of the state in this difficult time will be implemented 

Akinmade said: “Ogun is the first state to implement the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Bus initiative, to take care of transportation challenges. The buses are currently positioned on strategic routes in the state where people are meant to pay a token fee to cover a reasonable distance.

“Governor Abiodun has initiated policies with direct impacts on the people. Evidence is the ongoing Educash programme that is planned to provide a one-off N10,000 education support grant for 100,000 pupils and students of public primary and secondary schools. The ongoing exercise is done in a transparent manner such that the beneficiaries have been full of appreciation of the gesture coming from the state government.”

According to Hon. Akinmade, 50,000 students of Ogun State origin in tertiary institutions across the country have been captured as part of the planned disbursements of N50,000 grant to each of them.

The Special Adviser added that the administration of Governor Abiodun is also providing health insurance cover for over 70,000 beneficiaries to include pregnant women, children, the elderly, market women, and other members of the informal sector.

“Pregnant women, under the Ibidero Scheme, would also be provided free pre-natal care, an additional N5,000 per birth and free post-natal care in the State Hospitals and Primary Health Care Centres,” he said.

Akinmade noted that provision would be made for food palliatives to include rice and other items for about 300,000 households across the state.

“The state government has started offsetting the backlog of inherited deductions. To this end, the government has immediately committed N500 million monthly payments towards outstanding deductions.

"It is noteworthy that we have continued to pay N10,000 transport allowance to all civil servants in the state for the last eight months," Hon. Akinmade submitted.

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, is dead

 

He was aged 81.

Oba Balogun spent two years on the throne of his forefathers, having been presented the Staff of Office by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on March 11, 2022.

Confirming his death in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, on Thursday, Makinde said Oba Balogun died Thursday evening at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.

The governor described the late monarch as a towering figure akin to an Iroko tree.

He wrote, “With total submission to the will of God, I announce the passing unto glory of our father, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“A mighty Iroko has fallen; Oba Balogun has joined the ancestors.

“In Kabiyesi, Ibadanland had a cosmopolitan and well-experienced Olubadan, who made indelible marks on the sands of history and achieved greatly within a short while.

“On behalf of the government and good people of the state, I condole with the immediate family of the Oba Balogun, the Olubadan-in-Council, the state Traditional Council and the people of Ibadanland. It is my prayer that God grants repose to the soul of our late monarch.”

“The passing of Oba Dr. Balogun marks the end of an era for Ibadanland, leaving behind a profound void in its rich history and heritage,” he added.

The late Olubadan was born on October 18, 1942.

The PUNCH reports that Olubadan ascended his forefathers’ throne two years ago after the passage of the late Oba Saliu Adetunji.

On Monday, the late monarch thanked God for the grace and privilege to clock two years on the throne, just as he thanked members of his advisory council for their unflinching support so far.

Balogun, in a statement by his Personal Assistant on Media, Oladele Ogunsola, in Ibadan, the state capital, said the second anniversary, which coincided with the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fast, was also used as an opportunity by the monarch to ask for prayers for the country by the Islamic faithful and expression of love for one another to make the period stress-free for the adherents.

The monarch said his clocking two years on the throne was a special grace by his creator that he could not take for granted.

Lady Jailed For Assaulting Lagos Official, Ignoring Pedestrian Bridge

 

A 22-year-old lady, Fasia Ajoke, was on Thursday sentenced to seven months and three weeks in prison by the Special Offences Court at Bolade-Oshodi for assaulting a  Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps female officer while on duty.

The state Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, disclosed this in a post on his X handle on Thursday.

Wahab said Ajoke was also guilty of resisting arrest and refusing to use the pedestrian bridge.

His post read, "The Special Offences Court at Bolade-Oshodi today convicted a lady, 22-year-old Fasia Ajoke to seven months and three weeks in jail for assaulting a female operative of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (KAI) #LAGESCOfficial on lawful duty, resisting lawful arrest and refusing to make use of the Ile-Epo pedestrian bridge, thereby endangering her life in the process.

"She was arraigned before Chief Magistrate S.A Adefioye of the Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile Court), Bolade-Oshodi on offences bordering on conducting herself in a manner likely to breach peace, obstruction and breach of peace by crossing the highway."

The commissioner urged residents to desist from assaulting environmental officers and to prioritise using pedestrian bridges. 

He wrote, "We enjoin every well-meaning Lagosians to desist from assaulting our environmental officers and also make use of the pedestrian bridges as the state will not hesitate to prosecute anyone found breaking the law."

The PUNCH reported on Tuesday that the Lagos State Government arrested seven miscreants for allegedly assaulting environmental officials during the removal of shanties and illegal structures along the Jakande Estate in the state.

It had also reported in February that the government described the crossing of major highways in the state by pedestrians as an offence adding that any defaulter caught will be prosecuted.

Ogun, Germany To Partner On Food Production

Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has called for the exploration of available partnership options between Germany and Ogun State in the area of food production.

He said Ogun State is looking at ways of contributing to the food security agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Prince Abiodun stated this when he received the Consul General, German Embassy, Weert Borner in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office on Thursday.

Abiodun noted that his administration is on the lookout for partners in the area of merchandised farming, adding that the state government would be supporting small farmers across eight extension services by teaching them how to grow. 

The governor also said that tractors and other forms of mechanized farming equipments that will help his administration in achieving it’s plan will also be provided for farmers in the state.

“I will like to explore with you and have partnership that we can find with the German government in supporting us in our new resolve to up the ante in food production.

“Our new policy now is to partner anyone who wants to come and farm in Ogun State by providing the land, by ensuring that the lands are accessible, by also clearing the land.

“To that extent, we are looking for partners in the area of merchandised farming and providing tractors and other forms of mechanized farming techniques that will help us in achieving our plan.

“In the last few days, we’ve been deliberating on how to ensure that we contribute our quota to the food security agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“We believe that we can easily be the bread basket of this nation and we are devising new strategies to achieve the objective in the shortest time.

“We have an ambitious plan of ensuring that in the next 12 months, this becomes easily visible across the state. We welcome partners that will assist us in that part,” he said.

Abiodun while commending the German Government over the capacity building program of GIZ in the state, confirmed the position of the state as the number one in non-oil revenue in the country as a result of the abundance of mineral resources, particularly limestone.

Excitement As Ogun Begins Payment Of N10,000 Cash Award To Primary, Secondary Pupils

It was excitement and praise galore as the Ogun State Government on Wednesday flagged off the payment of N10,000 cash award to 100,000 primary and secondary school learners in the over 2, 000 public schools across the four divisions of the state.

The payment is in fulfilment of the promise made by the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to pay N10,000 to indigent pupils and students in the state's primary and secondary schools.

Speaking while monitoring the disbursement of the money in some schools in Abeokuta, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu noted that the payment was one of the strategies used by the governor to provide succour to parents as a result of the present economic situation in the country.

Prof. Arigbabu noted that the gesture was meant to provide succour to pupils and their parents.

He said: "In view of the economic realities in the country, the governor decided to provide succour to the people of the state using multiplicity approaches to achieve this.

"He believes that another strategy that could be used which has never been used by any government before is the health and education sectors to reach the populace. Through the education sector, you can truly reach out to those who need the palliative.

"We have over 2, 000 primary and secondary schools in all the four divisions of the state, and 100,000 learners in these schools would receive N10,00 each."

He emphasized that the government decided to pay through parents whose children are in public primary and secondary schools as the children do not have bank accounts due to their age.

"As we meet and give the parents the governor's message, they are receiving the alert for payment.The governor's gesture is to support the parents in meeting their children's needs," he added.

On how the children were chosen, the commissioner maintained that the process was objective, adding that it was easy to come up with the list of indigent students as teachers who are part of the school system were given the burden to find the indigent students as they are the closest to them.

"That is why we have not involved anybody who is not in the school system. The school system is not political. Civil servants are not supposed to be politicians, so the principals and the teachers have selected these children based on the fact that they have always seen them to be indigent students.

"How do they know them? These are children without shoes, some of them have torn uniforms, some don't have enough exercise books, and some can't even buy textbooks. There are a number of things they would have seen, some of them, it is these teachers that will be contributing money to the support system.

"I can assure you that the children we have chosen are children that are indigent. To confirm that for you, a parent came to me, she said that her child in this school was chosen, but she has another child in another school that was not chosen. That is telling you that indigency is relative," he said.

He disclosed that 50,000 students of Ogun State origin in both public and private tertiary institutions have been captured to be paid N50,000 each.

The payment, he said, has started with about 20,000 students to be covered by the end of the week.

"In the tertiary level, we are giving out N50,000 to each student. We have captured 50,000 students from all the tertiary institutions whose details have been submitted to us after we wrote to the Vice Chancellors, Rectors and Provosts.

"We are paying directly to the students to ensure that the money get to them. We started payment last week, and we have paid over 10,000 students, and before the end of this week, we would have paid 20,000, "the commissioner assured.

Prof. Arigbabu also revealed that five exercise books would be given to 850,000 primary and secondary school learners, including those who did not benefit from the N10,000, adding that the governor was also preparing another package for the education sector.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo, who also monitor the disbursement exercise, opined that money would make a difference in the lives of those who really need it, noting that those who have received their alert have promised to make judicious use of it.

Speaking in an interview, the Principal, Baptist Boys High School (Junior), Lasabi Olarenwaju, noted that some of the beneficiaries were chosen based on the inability of their parents to cater for their basic needs,adding that the gesture by Governor Dapo Abiodun would go a long way in helping the beneficiaries.

Mrs. Odutayo Titilope, Principal, Senior School, Lisabi Grammar School, Idia-Aba, said 120 students were registered to benefit from the cash award.

Alhaji AbdulRahaman, a parent whose child is in African Church Grammar School, appreciated the governor for the gesture, saying it would go a long way in meeting the needs of his child, while Mrs Funmi Alaka, a widow, appreciated Governor Abiodun for the kind gesture, saying the cash award would help her in getting some of the things needed by her daughter.

Zainab Babatunji and Abosede Ashamu, whose wards attend Holy Prophets Primary School, said though they initially had doubt about the workability of the cash award, the fact that they have received the money is a testimony that it is not fake and the governor has the interest of the people at heart.

Iyabo Kushimo, whose child attends Ebenezer Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Saje, Abeokuta, also confirmed the receipt of the N10,000 cash award, saying she would use the money to buy school sandals and use the other part to pay her child's transport fare.

Other schools visited by the Commissioner included, Abeokuta Grammar School, African Church Grammar School, Baptist Boys High School, Saje, Saje High School, Ebenezer Grammar School, Unity High School, Lisabi Grammar School, Idia-Aba, Ebenezer Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Saje, Holy Prophets Primary School, Adedotun, and Agunbiade Victory High School, Magbon, all in Abeokuta.

Northern senators distance themselves from Ningi, affirm their loyalty to Tinubu

 In a statement released by Senators Iyal Abbas from Adamawa, Ibrahim Bomoi from Yobe, Abdullahi Yar’ Adua, and four others, they made it clear that they do not agree with the statements made by the Forum’s Chairman.

The statement read: “We, the undersigned on behalf of the Senators from the 19 Northern States and the FCT, under the aegis of Northern Senators Forum (NSF), hereby state that Senator Ahmed Abdul Ningi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP, Bauchi Central), who also happens to be the chairman of our forum, was on his own in the claims he made on the BBC Hausa Service on the 2024 budget.

"As such, the view he expressed was his personal opinion, sentiment and unfortunately skewed, incorrect and misleading.

“There was never a time where we held a meeting and mandated Senator Ningi to address the press on the said matter.

“The budget was presented to the National Assembly during a joint session of the two chambers – Senate and House of Representatives – by President Bola Tinubu on November 29, 2023, in line with the requirement of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“Both chambers of the National Assembly diligently and meticulously debated, processed and passed the proposal of the President. And satisfied with it, the President assented to it.

“It is clear that Mr President presented a budget of N27. 5 trillion to the National Assembly and the Assembly passed a budget of N28.7 trillion based on the need to make increases or decreases in the appropriations of the various MDAs, which is in tandem with the legislative powers of the National Assembly in order to address critical projects and services across various sectors.

“Therefore, the statement made by Senator Ningi that the 2024 budget presented to the National Assembly by Mr President was the sum of N25 trillion was not correct and that should not be taken as the position of the Northern Senators Forum.

“To the best of our knowledge, there was no budget padding whatsoever that was done to the 2024 budget.

“The assertion by Senator Ningi that certain things were done to the bill is his personal opinion. It is not the view of the generality of us, the Northern Senators.

“Hence, we strongly and collectively dissociate ourselves from his action which was grossly unparliamentary.

“That, we, the Northern Senators are solidly behind President Bola Tinubu and we will continue to support him to succeed in addressing the challenges facing our country.

“Nigeria, at this particular moment, does not need ethnic sentiments but collaborations of all to bring prosperity to our beloved country, the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“We will continue to work with our brothers and sisters from the southern part of the country to move our country forward for the benefit of all and sundry.”
