MAN UNITED SHOCKS WOLVES AS MARCUS LIFTS THE RED DEVILS TO FOURTH POSITION ON THE LOG

By Sakiru Olopade

It was a sweet victory for Manchester United against Wolveshampton as the red devils broke into the fourth position on the English Premier League log.

The Wolves were all out to get victory in their bid to move out of the relegation murky water against equally desperate Manchester United in search of UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ticket.

It was end to end of an encounter , both teams failed  to get an early   opener.

Alejandro Garnacho was the most culprit, failing to convert many glaring chances. What could have been the first goal of the encounter was wasted as Garnacho failed to capitalize on the short back pass from Semendo to goalkeeper Sa.

The red devils save hand, David De Gea was called to duty on several occasions but he pulled up brilliant and magnificent saves to put the host attackers at bay.

At the start of the proceedings in the second half, both teams continued pilling pressures but with United having the upper hand.

However, the water tight defense of United proved a hard nut to crack inspite of the incessant attacks by Wolves.

The rebel , Marcus Rashford  that was left on the bench by the United coach, Erik Ten Hag  for indispline , came into the fray, bubbling with energy, running round the Wolves defense with dangerous incursions.

The goal that broke camel's back came in the 74th minute with a build up from Marcus Rashford finding Bruno Fernandez in one-two touch before wriggling his way to the vital to beat goalkeeper Sa for the much needed goal.

The goal brought out the best in Wolves but the red devils kept their back tight to ward off the dangers.

What could have been the second goal was cancelled by the VAR for hand ball before the in form Rashford slotted the ball into the net.

All efforts to level scores by the rampaging home side during the additional time were thwarted by United to ensure they secure three points from the encounter which were enough to catapult them to the fourth position on the English Premier League.

Ogun: Female Muslim Students To Start Using Hijab In School January 9 – Islamic league ... Says Decision Follows Meeting With State Govt

By Yusuf Olatunji
League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State have asked all female muslim students  in public schools in the state to start using hijab when school resumes next year for new session.
Rising from its December meeting in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital, the Islamic leaders on Tuesday said the declaration for the use of Hijab in public schools in the state’s public schools followed the meeting they had with the state government on the matter.
And in a statement issued and signed by its  Secretary General, Sheikh Tajudeen Adewunmi on the matter, they said the commencement of the usage of hijab starts January 9, 2023 when the  students  resume for their second term.
The league also said only, “desiring and willing female Muslim students could  adorn white colour shoulder length cape hijab  as they resume for the second term of the 2022/2023 academic session on Monday 9th January, 2023 and henceforth without any fear of molestation or punishment.”
The statement reads in part, “as a critical stakeholder in Ogun State and the country at large, and on behalf of Muslims in Ogun state (the Muslim Ummah) and as leaders of a people, we have the responsibility to respond to their legitimate concerns.
“At the end of our December 2022 general meeting where many issues bothering on the welfare of the Ummah were discussed, we resolved to express the opinion of the Muslim community (the Ummah) in the state as it concerns the following issues:
“Many female muslim students in Nigeria, and Ogun State in particular have continued to feature unnecessarily in many protracted cases of infringements on their rights in their quest to practice their religion especially as regards the use of hijab in schools.
“However, all doubts or controversies on the matter have  been put to rest by the pronouncement of the Honourable Justices of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which reaffirmed the rights of Muslim students in Nigerian Schools to use hijab as they so wished.
“It should also be put on record that many agencies of the Ogun state government have always expressed that there is no law whatsoever that prevented female Muslim students from the use of hijab in spite of the fact that Muslim students who put on hijab have always been beaten, embarrassed or/and humiliated in many ways over the years.
“God’s given rights and freedom that are also guaranteed by the law of the land do not require any formality or approval.”
The league however  pleaded with the state government to warn teachers and school heads to desist from depriving Muslim female students their human rights and accept the  approval of the use of hijab in schools.
The statement further read “We request the state government to warn overzealous and religious intolerant individuals among school heads and teachers as well as others who might want to take laws into their own hands by preventing Muslim students who are willing to express their fundamental human right.
“The Muslim Community had noted the previous intolerance and disdain from non Muslim teachers and heads of schools against Muslim students on this matter, which include (but not limited to) molestation, affliction of physical injury and many forms of harassment.
“The hitherto tolerance from Muslims has been taken for granted and the Muslim community will not hesitate to take necessary actions against any individual  that could frustrate the desire and the efforts in the exercise of the rights of any Muslim in any form or guise.”
The religious leaders also frowned at the dearth of Islamic Religious Knowledge teachers in public schools in the state.
Citing section 38(2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) , the religious leaders said  “no person attending any place of education shall be required to receive religious instruction or to take part in or attend any religious ceremony or observance if such instruction ceremony or observance relates to a religion other than his own, or religion not approved by his parent or guardian.
“Apart from the fact that Muslims students were deprived of the opportunity to learn Islamic Studies in many Schools in the state, it is more unfortunate, disheartening and in fact illegal (in the spirit and intent of the aforementioned provision of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria) that Muslim students in some government owned schools in Ogun State are being compelled to offer Christian Religious Knowledge as a subject in the schools.
“We use this opportunity to call on the state government and in particular, the Honourable State Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology to, as a matter of urgency, correct the anomaly through recruitment and deployment of Islamic Studies teachers to schools across the state to teach the subject.
“We appeal to the state government to follow this up with necessary instructions to the heads of schools to make them understand that Section 10 of the 1999 Constitution identifies no state religion and as such they should all desist from any act(s) that could create religious animosity in the state.
“The League of Imams and Alfas and the entire Ummah in Ogun State appreciate and respect other religions and their adherents and will continue to do so for our peaceful coexistence and stable religious atmosphere in Ogun State especially because there is no compulsion in religion. Together we can sustain the state in its stead as a model among the comity of states in the country.”
The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology in the state, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu could not be reached as of the time of filing this report to confirm the statement .
Several calls made to his phone lines were also not answered.

APOSTLE ADENIJI OF GOSACOM PREACHES PEACE AT YULETIDE ...........says Nigeria is a God projec

By Sakiru Olopade

In a no-holds-barred exclusive interview with Apostle Peter Olujide Adeniji, the general overseer of God Is Able Covenant Mission Incorporation Int'l, Ita Oshin, Abeokuta, spoke on many salient issues bothering on the controversy surrounding the actual date of the birth of Jesus Christ, the forthcoming 2023 general elections, New year messages for those at the helms of affairs, those at the corridors of power, people across board and not sparing the men on the pulpit.

The clergyman, who at a time, did not believe in the celebration of Christmas, just like some people too, but there was a change in the narrative now.

In the interview, Apostle Adeniji bared his mind on the reason for the change and the benefits in the celebration of Christmas.

"First and foremost, one thing should be noted, that the only thing that is permanent is change , nothing is permanent, except change. Before now, we do not believe in Christmas celebration because we believe that Jesus Christ is born into our lives everyday, not until we wait for a particular day to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ."

" However, like I said earlier that the only thing that is permanent is change, the reason we are having a turn around is that we consider it that if i celebrate my birthday and likewise other people celebrate their birthday once in a year, we now ask, is it a  crime to have special day to celebrate the birth of our own redeemer, He that has come to redeem us, the one that has come to pay the supreme price, that no one can ever pay. The bible has never made it a sin or crime  , it is on this premise, that we now consider it as worthy to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and we can see that the whole world is also celebrating Christmas.

Apostle Adeniji, made it clear that the argument on the exact date of the birth of Jesus Christ is not known or the day was originally set aside for the worship of an idol is irrelevant.

"Yes, nobody can pin point or say the exact date but the 25th of December of every year has been adopted as the date of the birth of our Lord instead of using the date to worship idol.It doesn't matter, that is an indication that Jesus is supreme, Jesus is greater than the idol they have already chosen the day for.

Talking on the benefits, Apostle Adeniji said,"Christmas day could be regarded as a day of salvation of some people.Today  being a Christmas day, many people be in the presence of God which could serve as a day some people will repent and genuinely accept Jesus as a result of aura in the air."

In his Christmas message to the Nigerians, the general overseer of God Is Able Covenant Mission Incorporation Int'l, Said, " Jesus was born to redeem us and bring peace to the whole world, I therefore, want to charge everybody Nigeria and as Nigerians to live in peace and harmony, let us imbibe culture of peace in our homes, communities, and organizations.Anybody that doesn't know peace, regardless the Calibre of such person, doesn't know God.Let everybody lives in peace and maintain peace everywhere."

On the forthcoming general elections in 2023, Apostle Adeniji in his charge to the Nigerian leaders, and the citizens of this country, the clergyman counselled ," We have been been praying for God's intervention as regards 2023 general elections, a lot of prophesies have been coming from left, right , back, front and center. For me ,I believe God is first in the affairs of men and when talking about Nigeria , it is God's project, no doubt about it, no matter what anything or anyone may be doing, Nigeria remains God's project and occupying the centre part of the heart of God.l want to charge our leaders from the presidency to allow the will of God to prevail, they should allow Nigerians to choose their leaders , whom they want to rule them for the next four years. Our leaders should, equally know that it is in the atmosphere of peace, faithfulness, truthfulness that we can have what we are agitating for, and should as well know that whatever they do,they will give account to God."

On the part of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Apostle Adeniji enjoined them to be truthful and create level playing ground for all the aspirants  in the conduct of the elections..

"The organ in charge of the election,(INEC), should endeavour to be truthful to Nigerians and ensure free and fair elections that will be acceptable to all and sundry, knowingly well that whatever they do, will be in record with their image being at stake."

He warned the electorates to be mindful of the consequence of their actions and inactions in the process of the forthcoming elections.

"We should know that we want to decide what will happen to us in another four years and should not be carried away with the gift of five yards cloth, one Congo of rice , five thousand naira in envelope, even if it is five hundred thousand naira,it is nothing. We should vote wisely, according to the bishop of our hearts, noting this is our country and we have no other country. And if you fail to vote, you should see yourself as the enemy because your inactions will certainly have adverse effect on the outcome of the elections, so we should be ready to perform our Civic right as citizens of this country."

On the new year , Apostle Adeniji have assurance, that God had no evil plan for anybody, that God created us for good things and they should be expecting a glorious year and avoid the prophets of doom. However, people must run away from sin in order to receive the blessings and other goodies from God.

The respected man of God, equally has this to say for his fellow men of God all over the world.

" We should let people begin to see and know the will of God. Why are we called ? What is the purpose of our callings?Stop deceiving people because of what you will eat, stop manipulating because at the end day, you will suffer.Stop merchandising the will of God, stop turning the house of God to a place of buying and selling. Remember what Jesus did to those who engaged in such act.Any pastor that refuses to repent in 2023, God is ready to flush him or her out. The children of God too, should open their eyes, stop following fake prophets and prophets of doom and know that you can also  commune with God . And most importantly,we must live with fear of God and do the will of God from the alter to the congregation." ---the man of God concluded.

By Yusuf Olatunji

The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has said that Nigeria's huge population of youth and not oil is the nation's economic mainstay.

He also noted that a well nourished and developed youth are capable of launching the nation into global reckoning.

Abiodun who made this assertion in a lecture he delivered at the fourth convocation ceremony of the Mountain Top University, declared that Nigerian youth are knowledgeable, vibrant, with indomitable spirit.

He observed that though the nation is blessed with abundant oil, solid minerals and other natural resources, Nigeria's wealth resides with the youths regarded as the future leaders.

Speaking on the topic "The Youth as Catalyst in Building Nigeria's Future", said "Let me say without fear of contradiction that we  have a lot to be proud of but our attitude to our youths is not part of it. A significant dimension of our leadership predicament in Nigeria is due largely to the disenfranchisement of the Nigerian youth.

"I dare say that the statistical story of the Nigerian youth seems to have taken worse dive even with democracy. It is important for you, our youths to have faith and believe and for those who desire to change the equation and advance the course of our youth in business and politics.

"But more than anything else, do not let someone else create your world for you. For when they do, they will always make it too small and it may not be the world you want for yourselves", he noted.

Abiodun charged the youths to channel their energies by exploring new frontiers in the different areas of human endeavours that would bring the desired development to all facets of the economy as they are the "new oil of the nation".

The governor further admonished the youth to rally round themselves, empower others to achieve their potential as well as use their numerical strength from wherever they are, to identify and promote their own to take leadership both in economy and politics.

According to Abiodun, "Since youths are usually direct and indirect victims of mis-government and poor leadership, it is imperative for them not to wait to be crushed by policies of the state by others without their inputs, but partake in issues that affect them".

He emphasized that youth are the foundation layer for the development of any nation, as they act as the driving force, through their vibrancy and tenacity.

He called on government at all levels to provide the platform for the youth to contribute to the development of the society, adding that as the future leaders, it is important to involve them in policy and decision making to prepare them for the task ahead.

While calling for the streamlining of admission in the universities and other higher institutions, the governor noted that they must continue to ensure adequate relationship between 'town and gown' and produce qualified personnel for the development needs of the society.

He maintained that youth empowerment remains a focal point of his administration, charging higher institutions to expose their students to entrepreneurship and mechanized agriculture, as the sector has capacity to provide employment opportunities, poverty alleviation and guaranteed food security.

The state helmsman called on the Mountain Top University and others to come up with a productive approach to produce youths that would sustain and increase the tempo of development and provide a solid foundation for the future.

The governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented at the occasion, said the school had made tremendous contributions to manpower development in the country and has set a standard in academic excellence in the country.

He charged the graduates to engage in solving problems and not be job seekers, commending Ogun State government for its efforts at putting the education sector on a sound footing.

In his remarks, the Chancellor, Mountain Top University and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire Ministry, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, while congratulating the graduands, noted that the school was set up to provide an all round education that would make its products compete favourably with the best anywhere in the world.

2023: Pleasure time politicians are behind the problem of Ogun Labour Party- Sogunle

By Yusuf Olatunji

The governorship candidate of Labour Party in Ogun State ( LP), Hon. Kehinde Sogunle has disclosed that the problem of the party in the state was emanated by those he described as pleasure time politicians that don't have good intention for the Nigerians' future.

He noted how the individuals and some Association joined hands together to form the party, and its state before some defectors joined it from another party and they later left it with those that are using politics for their pleasure time.

He added that, the primary elections of the party that made him to be the flag bearer followed due process but his name was not on the INEC list due to nonchalant attitude of the party officials in the state.

He stated the position of the DG for presidential campaign of the party, Dr. Doyin Okupe and described his suspension by some party stalwart in the state as illegal.

Sogunle also disclosed the strategy that the party will use to win in the coming 2023 general elections. He however highlighted some of his agenda for the betterment of the state if he elected as the governor of the state.

"Everybody know labour party before March of this year is a very small Party  within 2014/2015 when people came from PDP, joined the party and extended it and they  later go back to PDP and left it with few people who are i called 'Pleasure time in politics' that are using it for their pleasure time in politics. The party was chosen by stakeholders who believe in future of Nigeria. If you look at labour party, PRP, NNPP and the Labour their caption for labour party was linkage to labour. The NLC and TUC and the  labour union who also show serious interest in participating this time around  that moved from advocacy. So they merged with other interest goals. I belong to  one of them which is RCM, Some of us are professionals. So we all marge together, NLC, TUC and   chose labour party as the vehicle we will use to proceed the election this time around. It was quite attractive enough in so far of performance of Peter Obi.

"We did our primaries  according to INEC time table, I got the ticket in June 9, 2022. Up till now most of us who contested we are not got our name listed with INEC. That is why we are asking question whether I was chosen or no. I am an experience person, i cannot be jumping on street when i know that any name on the INEC list is actually are most contesting that are confirmed as candidate. We saw that some of the party functionaries particularly from this state have being playing games with the nomination list. On INEC list they are not truthful to us as candidates to the party, So we pushed for some attention at the national level. We realised that they were late in submitting our  details to INEC portal and they said we are late. We were ready by June 15, the portal closed by July 22. Within June 15 we got no explanation. The explanation we got is that we have to go to court and that court takes like four months. Even when court take a decision, we go to appeal. We saw some of deliberate  The way we pushed it, we realised that even the case this guys are embarrassed to party and mess up. Any moment from now, we are getting our own court decision to get our name on ballot.

"The state organ of the party saying they have vote of no confidence on the National chairman or state officers of the party saying the DG of campaign for presidential candidate is suspended for not  paying 100 par month for six years. We all joined this party in May and everybody was coming inside, so I don't know who involved so many of us about paying subscription. When we are coming to the party, this Dr. Okupe was the presidential candidate of PDP and he stepped down for Peter Obi. Labour party is the party that is more transparent. Ticket apart, but the party must be healed.

"The basic criteria to actually contest for an election is to have a valid primary. I have a valid primary and if doesn't favour me now, after that elections since party has valid primary that elections will be cancelled. Even if to extend it doesn't favour, i will contribute my own quotas to change in Nigerian. Look at the changes, the fact that Nigerians are ready. END SARS is an indicator to revolution and they have realised that they can't do it on the street, they have to do it by ballot. People are saying they online. They physical and working actively in devoting there time to making sure that this stand for them will not be wasteful.

"People in the grass root will follow what we call the opinion leaders. This youths constitute 70% of the voting population and they have a lot of influences on those people we call grass root. In Ogun state, I can show you the map, Ado/ Odo-Ota is not grass root that is the highest population voter followed by Obafemi/Owode. If you can mobilise people in those areas, Sagamu, Ifo, Obafemi/Owode and Ado/Odo-Ota constitute 60% of the voters. What happens in the city centre, affect what happens in the grass root. We are working on Data we are not just  walking around and I have been the head of political strategy since 2001.

"Tell me what do they spend the money on? Today Nigerians are wise that money given to them is just for three or two months. Those new analysis about mobilizing people, working on people data and lot more targeting your vote , targeting your campaign are the things that will defined. Another thing is that, people are getting information by the day, they are very clear about the issues.

"The first thing i will do, would be done which is rescue the party because Unstable political system has impact on governance. We will look at the reality of Ogun state by look at critical things that will support the economical of the state. The issue Ogun state has is economy. We are very enlighten and  very exposing. The first thing is security. The second thing is Human capital development and delibrating economy drive that will drive the wealthy creation. The construction, The entertainment, The agriculture and services.

By Yusuf Olatunji

The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun MFR

, has unveiled the c

Campaign Council for the 2023 elections, with a promise that his campaign will be constructive and issue based.

Speaking at the unveiling of the Council and the commissioning of the State Campaign Secretariat at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, on Saturday, Abiodun said his administration has in the last three and a half years embarked on people's oriented projects, saying  his second term campaign would focus on how to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.

"We must engage in constructive and issue based campaign in line with the provisions of the electoral and rule of engagements. We have done more than enough projects to ease our campaign while we promiseto do more for the benefits of the people of Ogun State if voted into power again.

"As we proceed to meet our people to seek their votes in this campaign for all our candidates in the state, let me assure you all that our administration will remain unwaveringly committed to the equitable development of our state and the implementation of people oriented and purposeful infrastructure, in line with our policy of inclusiveness and good governance", he said.

The governor noted that his government was pro-active by  lowering the political temperature in the state by being tolerant and respectful of the activities of all political parties in Ogun.

"We have continued to create a level playing ground for all individuals irrespective of their political affiliations. This is unlike the previous administration that turned the period of campaign into War and brigandage", he noted.

The governor enumerated the numerous projects and achievements recorded in the last three years and six months to include construction of over 800 kilometres of roads; affordable houses; renovation of schools and health facilities; youth and women  empowerment; agriculture, among others.

On areas to focus on in his second term if voted next year, Governor Abiodun listed electrification to ensure uninterrupted power to the major cities, towns and industrial hubs; project light up Ogun; provision of water supply by carrying out the major overhauling of Arakanga

Water Works to make water available for the people of Abeokuta and its environs, among other projects.

He stated further that efforts would be geared towards sustaining the peaceful atmosphere of the state to attract more investors by deploying technology for surveillance and crime detection, noting that "Security to us is very important, as we understand that No investor will invest in an environment that is not secured. Hence, will continue to provide Hilux vans, Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) and other logistics for our security agencies in the state".

He stated further that a Special Intervention Programme that would benefit over 40, 000 people in the first instance, implementation of the multimodal transport master plan, as well as the completion of the Agro Cargo at Iperu Remo;  construction of a Dry Port at Kajola and a logistics hub at Wasinmi; leveraging on the abundance of oil resources in Tongeji  Island and Olokola, would be given due attention

He noted that the state under his watch would intensify efforts at gearing the Internally Generated Revenue  Service (IGR) to be more revenue driven, in order to be able to implement his administration's developmental agenda.

Abiodun, however, charged the campaign council members to live up to the expectation by winning Ogun for the progressives again in the presidential, gubernatorial, Senate, House of Reps and the House of Assembly elections, submitting that "our campaign must percolate to the grassroots for the good of our party".

In his goodwill message, the former governor of Ogun State and the grand Patron of the Campaign Council, Olusegun Osoba, stressed the need for the people to collect their Permanent Voter's Cards, as the available record shows that the south west has the highest number of unclaimed Voter's Cards in the country.

He contended that Ogun State is the cradle of progressive ideals in the country, hence, the need for the party members to support and promote all the candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Also speaking, former governor Gbenga Daniel who described Governor Abiodun as a good chess player who was able to bring people of diverse political leanings together, said it was time for the people to come together and work for the good of the party in the coming elections.

The APC gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, called on the members to put their house in order and carry out adequate marketing of their candidates from the president down to members of the House of Assembly respectively.

In his welcome address, the Ogun State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC), Yemi Sanusi stated that the Campaign Council covers all candidates seeking elective post in the 2023 general elections, urging members to work together and shun disunity to jointly achieve victory.

He admonished the candidates to buckle up and complement the efforts of the governor by working harder than in 2019 to achieve a landslide victory.

Nuhu Ribadu Pledges To Support Binani

By Yusuf Olatunji

A former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and one of the governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Adamawa State, Nuhu Ribadu has resolved to support the candidate of the party, Aisha Dahiru Binani, following a court of appeal judgment.

Mr Ribadu, who came second in the primaries, challenged Mrs Binani’s victory, over alleged vote buying, illegal delegate list, and over voting during the primary conducted on May 27.

On November 24, an appeal court sitting in Yola overturned the judgment of a federal high court, which voided the APC primaries but declared that party had no candidate.

In a letter dated December 2, and addressed to the acting chairman of APC in Adamawa State, Mr Ribadu, said even though he had reservations about the appeal court ruling, he has no intention of dragging the case any further.

The letter reads: “As you are aware, the Court of Appeal had given its judgment on the dispute arising from our governorship primaries, which went against the prayers we made in the suit I instituted.

“Since then, I have been in consultation with my family, political associates, and party leaders at different levels on the next step.

“In addition, I have reflected deeply on my mission in politics, especially my aspiration for Adamawa governorship.

“My motivation in aspiring to govern the state is for an opportunity to serve my dear state as my contribution for a more purposeful future for the state. It was a project started at the instance of well-meaning friends and associates who prodded me with the believe that I have the experience and wherewithal that could be of tremendous help to leapfrog the development of our state.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank those well-wishers and my teeming supporters who sacrificed a lot and offered unflinching support for the tremendous goodwill and immense support I received from them over the years.

“This is my second attempt to pick the ticket of our party. In 2019 I offered myself but missed the opportunity to become the candidate of my party. It is however on record that to show good spirit of sportsmanship and protect the interest of my party, the APC, I buried the hatchet to work for the person who picked the ticket and supported him to the end, in spite of opposition against that stance from some of my supporters.

“I decided to give it another shot this time around, driven by the same motive. At the end of the governorship primaries, held on May 26, 2022, our agents reported clear cases of breach of law and irregularities. This fact was confirmed by the reports of the police, INEC and the appeal committee of the party, but no internal redress came forth.

“It was for this reason that we approached the court to seek justice. The Federal High Court agreed with us, but it decided to declare that the party had no candidate, which was not what we prayed for. In its judgment, the Court of Appeal, however, reinstated the candidate declared winner of the primaries. We disagree with the judgment but I have no intention of dragging this any further.

“I have decided to allow the status quo remain for the larger interest of the party and its unity.

“As a true party man, I call on all my supporters to not despair but to remain faithful to our party. We should not let any setback affect our enthusiasm and support for our great party. I call on all my supporters to support all our candidates.

“I also specifically express my deep appreciation to the state leadership of the party under your leadership for the support and encouragement, and urge you all to remain steadfast in the service of our party.

“Accept my best wishes and respect”.
