The Chairman Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi has hailed President Bola Tinubu on the appointment of Hon. Bukola Olopade as the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC).
Alhaji Majekodunmi said the appointment is purely on merit, and expressed confidence that Hon. Olopade's history as a renowned sports administrator will rub off positively on the Nigerian sports sector.
The Ogun FA Chairman congratulated the Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the good people of Ogun State, he said the announcement could not have come at a better time, as the Gateway State gets set to host the 2024 National Sports Festival.
"I congratulate my brother, Hon. Bukola Olopade on behalf of everyone from Ogun State Football Association and I also congratulate His. Excellency Governor Dapo Abiodun who will of course be very proud of the appointment.
"Hon. Olopade's depth and reach cannot be overemphasized, he's deeply rooted and he knows exactly what he's been tasked to do.
"It is important to have a perfect fit at the top echelon of our sports body, we have clamored for it and now we have it.
Alhaji Majekodunmi who is an Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) urged all stakeholders to come together and throw their weight behind the leadership of the National Sports Commission, saying it behoves on everyone to contribute their quota to their success.
